RAW LOVE is the techno project of producer Chrisanna Northrup. Raw, hypnotic, industrial and groove-driven, her music is built for the moment the body answers before the mind does. Shaped by Berlin’s underground and based in Southern California, she is the author of the New York Times bestseller behind the largest study of relationships ever undertaken, and spent years learning what moves people. Now she explores it through sound.
RAW LOVE is the techno project of Chrisanna Northrup, a producer shaped by Berlin’s underground and based in Southern California. Her sound is raw, hypnotic, industrial and groove-driven: repetition that pulls you under, metallic texture, and a groove you feel before you hear it, with darkness and human emotion running underneath.
Before techno, Chrisanna spent years studying what moves people. As a relationship researcher she created The Normal Bar, the New York Times bestseller drawn from the largest and most far-reaching study of relationships ever undertaken: more than 70,000 people across 24 countries. RAW LOVE takes that curiosity to the dance floor, where connection runs in every direction: to yourself, to another person, to a room full of strangers moving to the same beat.
Every release has charted in Beatport’s Top 10, reaching the Top 5 in Hard Techno and Peak Time, and her debut, Dive Into My Soul, hit #3 on Beatport’s Hype chart. Her music has passed 250,000 streams on Spotify, and she has played Symbiotikka at KitKat Club in Berlin and Burning Man. Her current chapter is a three-part body of work, Human Connection, Shadow Rail and Uncharted. Female voices run through it, giving women space to be heard, expressive and fully themselves.
